- Zederbaum, Alexander (Tsederboym, Aleksander)
- (1816-93)Polish editor and author. He was born in Zamosc, and lived in Lublin and Odessa. He founded the Hebrew newspaper Ha-Melitz in 1860, and in 1862 began to issue Kol mevaser in Yiddish. Later he settled in St Petersburg where he established the city's first Russian Jewish periodical (Vyestnik russkikh yevreyev) and first modern Yiddish periodical (Yidishesfolks-blat).
